Trailer Overload #2: Thunder Down Under

Welcome to the second edition of Trailer Overload. In this edition: Teenage looking models vs the invading Korean army, the 1st Duke of Suffolk discovers he's not from Earth, Anton Chigurh targets Dame Judy Dench and Paul Rudd examines his balls while Leslie Mann lies about her age.

Red Dawn

After being held back from release due to MGM's financial difficulties, this film's finally getting a release thanks to Chris Hemsworth's rising star power. While I do think that the film looks entertaining enough, I do feel that it has a lot more potential to end up being a bad film than it does being a good film. Also, Josh Peck looks like he will easily get on my nerves with his over the top acting that he used throughout Drake & Josh.

Red Dawn will be released on November 24th, 2012

Man of Steel

Any fears that I had of Zack Snyder directing this film were quelled by this teaser trailer. The music combined with the direction of the shown scenes really hint towards a more realistic version of Superman (as realistic as you can get with aliens and flying men), and Christopher Nolan's guiding hand can be felt here.

Man of Steel will be released on June 14th, 2013

Skyfall

While I have not seen any Bond films apart from the one's starring Daniel Craig, the trailer kinda makes me want to go back and watch them all from the beginning. Sam Mendes' direction looks outstanding, and based on his performance in No Country For Old Men, Javier Bardem looks to be one of the years best villains, and certainly one of the most memorable. Without a doubt, one of my most anticipated for the rest of the year.

Skyfall will be released on October 26th, 2012 for us Brits. November 9th, 2012 for those in the US.

This is Forty

A return to an already established set of characters from Judd Apatow will be interesting (I did not see Get Him To The Greek), especially likable enough ones like Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann's characters from Knocked Up. While the trailer is not jam-packed with laughs, I am anticipating the return to Pete and Debbie's lives.

This is Forty will be released on December 21st, 2012
