The Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence) (2015)

The Human Centipede 3 Poster.jpgThe (hopefully) Final Nightmare

Director: Tom Six
Running Time: 102 Mins
Starring: Dieter Laser, Laurence R. Harvey, Bree Olsen, Eric Roberts

If you've seen one film about people sewn together ass to mouth, then you've seen them all. Tom Six's latest film builds up to the set piece that appears on its posters, but if you've seen either of the previous films, then it's a yawn-worthy case of "same rubbish, different film".

Warden Bill Boss (Dieter Laser) is looking for methods to turn people off crime, while satisfying his cruel and psychotic nature. His accountant Dwight (Laurence R. Harvey) suggests taking inspiration from the Human Centipede films, by sewing prisoners into a 500 person human centipede.

Once again, it's clear Tom Six's only goal is to make the proceedings as abhorrent as he possibly can. If the casual misogyny and sexual assault wasn't enough to turn your stomach, then the sights of castration, kidney rape and Dieter Laser's come face should be enough to regurgitate your last meal.

Warden Bill Boss has to be one of the most abhorrent characters to come to screen. A misogynist, racist asshat who's mentally unstable, constantly in fear of being "death-raped" by the inmates. Dieter Laser chooses to play the role to cartoonish proportions, as opposed to attempting anything close to "depth".

Yet Bree Olsen fares much worse when playing the only female role onscreen, but you can't blame her for giving such a blank a performance. Her character gets constantly referred to as either "Tits" or "office slut", being told her gender means she isn't allowed an opinion, and constantly being sexually assaulted by her boss, no matter if she's concious or not.

Tom Six has made The Human Centipede 3 (Final Sequence) a uniquely meta film, by having viewers swallow copious amounts of shit, akin to the centipedes unwilling participants. Let's face it, nobody expects a well written film to Sidney Lumet standards, or anything close to masterful character development. Yet, it's a surprise how things get so trashy, tasteless and puerile, leaving you in requirement of a shower.
